Meet Thierry Labossiere

Thierry Labossiere
BSc
Thierry Labossiere is the youngest son of Dr. Marie and Dr. Adler Labossiere. He graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, driven by his goal of becoming a physician. Committed to health equity and service, Thierry has explored the intersection of medicine, public health, and policy through both academic study and hands-on experience.
As an undergraduate, Thierry led student organizations focused on global health, medical outreach, and bioethics. He helped organize international service trips that promote health literacy and encouraged thoughtful engagement with issues like vaccine access, gene editing,
and disparities in care. He also worked closely with individuals with developmental disabilities, supporting therapeutic routines and daily care with compassion and patience.
In clinical settings, Thierry has worked alongside emergency physicians, documenting patient care and developing a strong understanding of communication and decision-making under pressure. During his gap year, he expanded his experience by supporting uninsured patients
through medication management, health education, and care coordination. These roles strengthened his belief in patient-centered, accessible care.
Thierry has contributed to academic research, specifically a literature review on COVID-19 misinformation among college students. His work, which combined qualitative and quantitative methods, emphasized the impact of media and health communication on behavior and trust. To
create a dialogue on health communication, as a guest speaker, he has presented on hearing loss and biotechnology, using storytelling and advocacy to connect science with lived experience.
Thierry’s journey reflects a deep passion for medicine that blends scientific knowledge with empathy and justice. He is committed to becoming a physician who not only treats illness but also advocates for people and communities to be fully seen, heard, and cared for.
