Meet Dr. Zaher Elmir

We are proud to welcome Dr. Zaher Elmirindy to Plymouth-Sorrento Medical Center. With over two decades of medical experience across urgent care, emergency services, general surgery, and military medicine, Dr. Zaher brings a level of expertise and compassion to our team.
 

Dr. Zaher holds a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Florida State University and a Master of Science in Organic Synthetic Chemistry from Florida Institute of Technology. His academic journey also includes a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Zoology from the University of Florida and multiple certifications in emergency medical services and surgery. He has completed specialized training as a Flight Surgeon at Fort Rucker, AL, and General Surgery at Eisenhower Army Medical Center.

Dr. Zaher is board-certified and trained in:

• Urgent and emergency care

• General surgery

• Vascular and joint procedures

• Advanced trauma life support

• Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation

• Neonatal and pediatric emergency care

• Tactical and combat casualty care
   

He holds multiple emergency medical licenses and has extensive field training in trauma, hazardous materials, and acute care, having served in both civilian and military medical roles.
 

Dr. Zaher has served in diverse settings including:

• American Family Care and CareSpot/MedFast

• Lake Regional Urgent Care

• Jena Medical as Clinical Director of Vascular Surgery

• Stuttgart Health Clinic in Germany as a Flight Surgeon

• Multiple hospitals and training centers across Florida
   

In addition to patient care, he has held positions as a Chemistry Instructor, tutor in anatomy and general science, and has extensive experience mentoring students in MCAT, GRE, and other academic exams.

Dr. Zaher is a U.S. Army-trained Flight Surgeon with experience in international and combat medical operations. He has deployed to Afghanistan, earned German language proficiency while stationed in Germany, and has conducted advanced training in trauma, surgery, and battlefield medicine.

Dr. Zaher is multilingual, including proficiency in English and German, enhancing his ability to communicate with a broad patient base.
